Hi Karen
All the Malaria-meds recommended for Mozambique are prescription only - Meaning you'll have to visit a doctor or a travel clinic first.
The choice is between Malanil, Lariam/Mefliam or Doxycycline. Protection against mosquito bites will reduce the risk further.
Malanil should be started 1-2 days before entering the area and continued for 7 days after leaving.
Mefliam/Lariam should be started 1 week before entering the area and continued for 4 weeks after leaving.
