Molluscum contagiosum is caused by a poxvirus (definitely not the HI virus) and often will go away by itself after months if just left alone. The problem is that it might spread quite rapidly, so waiting is usually an option very few are willing to take. At this stage the best way to treat molluscum contagiosum is by destroying the lesion. You can also try a cream called Aldara®, but it is indicated for the treatment of genital warts and not really for molluscum contagiosum (although there have been anecdotal reports that it works). Good luck.
