What causes nose bleeds when it is hot and another question what is and produces "snot" ?

Nico, the bleeding is probably due to swollen veins in the mucous membrane of the nose. When the mucous membrane it traumatised (nose rubbing, picking, etc.) it starts bleeding.
“Snot” is secreted by the mucous membrane to trap the bigger particles that enter the nose when breathing in.
