im 1.69 and 86kgs am i overweight and whats the best start up diet to start shedding the kilo's

At present your BMI = 30, which is rather overweight. Try to reduce down to 72 kg. Research has shown that to lose weight you need to reduce your energy intake by eating a low-fat, high-fibre diet (click on 'Diet' and 'Weight loss' and 'Slimming Diet' for an example) and increasing your energy expenditure by doing plenty of regular exercise - join a good gym or swim, skip, cycle, jog, walk briskly - anything to get going.
