Pap Smear
I went to my gynae and had a pap smear but did'nt phone to get my results. Do they test for STD's and would he have let me know if they had picked it up in the test because I am afraid I may have herpes.

A pap smear checks mainly for cancer of the cervix. Occasionally infections can be picked up, but this is not a reliable way to check for herpes. You should phone and get the pap smear result and, if you have blisters or sores on the vulva, ask your doctor to check for herpes.
