Periods and Pregnance
Can someone get pregnant while she has not seen her periods for more than three years? And also is it normal not to have your periods? She was taking prevention pills but after she stopped she never saw her periods again.

Dear Wanna know

There are many reasons why mentrual periods may become absent for an unpredicatble duration. It is not uncommon for patients with premature ovarian failure to sponatneously start ovulating again and as a result can conceive. However, it appers in this situation, that the problem may be more complicated and I recommend a thorough investigation of the ovarian hormone status. The distincton between premature ovarian failure and premature menopause can be rather difficult to make purely on clinical grounds and it is best investigated by a fertilty specialist who could shed more light on the nature of the problem.
