Pets jumping on furniture
How can we teach our dogs not to jump on the couches and lays there while we were not at home? We used to pick them up to sit / lay next to us before we got our new set of furniture.

Hi Petru, first of all when you are at home the dogs are then not allowed on furntiture. Simply pick dog up, without speaking and interacting and put it back on the floor. You may have to do this often initially until the dog gets the idea.
When you are out, simply 'booby-trap' all furniture putting on items such as brown paper/silver paper, boxes etc to stop the dog jumping up. You could also put on some pure Citronella oil (you wont have mosq!) to make the chairs less appealing to the dogs - do check that this will not soil your furniture first.
I would additionally supply dog with a nice cosy bed in the lounge area and get the dog used to lying there by giving it a nice chew Femur or rawhide to get stuck into. When you are at home, if the dog leaves the bed with the chewy, simply put the chewy back on the bed - the idea - you only get to chew this when on your bed.
Good luck, Scotty
