Do hernias always show up on scans? I have a large bulge on my lower abdomen and symptoms of a "typical" hernia that 3 surgeons say could be a hernia, but nothing is showing up on the scans. The bulge is right along an scar from a surgery done in 2002, so they think it may be an incisional hernia, but the dr.'s are dumfounded that nothing is showing up.

Dear Katrina
Not always, as air filled sacs don't always show - They should actually just open the skin and have a look.
