what is polycystic orariansindrom
Dear Ralfie
Thank you for visiting health24.com.
Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome: Polycistic ovaries are a presence of 8 follicles or more per ovary. Each is smaller than 10mm in diameter. It usually presents with no menstrual cycle for more than three months or an ovulation/total suppression of ovulation. This is usually caused by elevated androgens in the blood (testostorone).
Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome usually causes infertility. The exact cause/etiology is unknown. For treatment I recommend that you consult your Gynaecologist.
Kind regards
Dr Anrich Burger
