Pulse rate
1. Could you please tell me what is a normal healthy pulse rate for a woman of 52?
2. When exercising how high should teh pulse rate go and how quickly should it return to normal after exercise?

1. Anything from 40 - 100 is normal - but average is about 72 beats per minute.
2. At your age, your exercising pulse should be in the vicinity of about 120 beats per minute, however this depends on your state of health, how fit you are etc so it is a ballpark figure i.e you may be quite safe in pushing it up to 135 - 140 beats per minute if fit and healthy. Each individual is different.
