Risperdole
My son diagnosed with ppdnos(autism)
There was various test done and nothing was found to explain the condition.
Who treats autism, a paediatric neurologist or a shrink? The reason i am asking this question is that a paediatric neurologist is medical doctor and will have to treat a medical condition, there was no medical condition found, doctor only treating symptoms
My son on riperdole to deal with is aggression, however when i push him to do thing s, he bang his head on the wall .
How does risperdole work in the brain, surely if it creating a chemical balances there something not working correctly in his brain. Why is body not producing the chemical naturally?

There's no general rule on this. SOME child psychiatrists and child psychologists, and SOME paediatric neurologists even general paediatricians are experienced, interested and able to make this diagnosis, but by no means all of them. Similarly, they may be able to treat the condition. Remember a child psychiatrist is also a medically trained doctor, and also able to prescribe meds.
There isn't the tidy chemical / brain explanation for autism which you understandably seek. Some treatments, chemical and psychological can help. Risperdal is not a primary treatment for Autism but is a useful treatment for some types of mental confusion and aggression.
Nobody should be prescribing such meds for a child without being sure of their value and without carefully explaining the diagnosis and how the proposed treatment may help, to the mother or both parents.
