Yes. Carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming, and South Africa, along with every other nation, is pumping out increasing amounts of it. We're not nearly as guilty in this respect as the developed world nations like the USA, but we certainly make a contribution. On the African continent, because of our industries, relative fast rate of development and our considerable coal reserves, we're the largest contributer to global warming - and above the international average.
