Dear MS
Sea water contains various minerals such as sodium potassium etc. There is a tradition among black people to drink sea water as a purgative. However, I would not recommend regular consumption of sea water for the following reasons: a) sea water can be contaminated by human excrement and drinking it can cause diarrhoea, vomiting, etc b) the salts in sea water can vary a great deal and if you eat a balanced diet you should not require addition minerals c) if you are really deficient in minerals, then take a good mineral supplement instead.
