What is and where can I get demerara sugar?

This type of sugar is actually brown raw sugar cane and I would advise you to phone the SA Sugar Association to find out where it is produced and sold in SA - phone them at (031) 508-7110. Otherwise use borwn sugar as sold in supermarkets.
