Suxamethonium chloride is a choline derivative that produces rapid and complete muscle relaxation, usually prior to some surgical procedures. It provides highly selective, non-competitive relaxation of voluntary skeletal muscles, the diaphragm, etc. IN CASES OF KNOWN HYPERSENSITIVITY USE OF THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATION. Yes, if used incorrectly, it can be fatal.
