SWEETENERS
Is there anything harmful in these sugar free sweeteners we can use for coffee and tea. A while back it was thought that they cause cancer. Can you recommend a sweetener that has something like aspartame or something that has no negative effects on the body?
Dear Sweeti
If you use artificial sweeteners in moderation, then they should not be harmful, but just don't drink litres and litres of artificially sweetened cold drink. The old studies that showed that rats fed cyclamates developed cancer, used such massive doses of cyclamates that a human would have to eat kilograms of the sweetener to reach the same level of ingestion! Canderel contains aspartame and you should be able to buy it at most supermarkets.
Best regards
