14yo daughter has swollen neck glands and a sore throat.
How does one determine whether it is mumps or tonsilitis?

Vic, if you look in her throat and you see big red lumps on the sides at the back, it is probably tonsillitis. If there is swelling of her cheeks and pain in the cheeks when she drinks sour cool drinks, it is probably mumps. Good luck.
