I absolutely do no believe in it. People who do such readings, like all fortune tellers are highly skilled not at reading the cards, but at reading you, and your responses to their early, usually vaguer comments on the cards. They give you what they think you want, by seeing how you react.
Someone once did a brilliant experiment in which people were convinced they were seeing a psychic, but told that so as to kep the experiment simple, they would not meet her face-to-face, and had to ask their questions in such a way that they could get a Yes or No answer. behind the screen sat a secretary with a table of random numbers. Depending on whether the next number on her list was odd or even, she said Yes or No, at random, to whatever questions were asjked. People found the experience highly impressive and helpful --- because whether their question recevied a yes or a no, they thought about the answer and tried to make sense of it --- and THAt was what helped them.
