terrier, neuted male
On the tail, close to the anus, the fur is rubbed away and scabs have formed. It is driving the dog crazy with a constant howl and scratches like mad. I have applied flea powder, Quadriderm ointment on the bites and bathe him once a week with hair conditioner. The sleeping area is washed down and blanket washed out once a week. Help! what is the next step?
Dear Charmaine,
The cause of a skin condition is difficult to diagnose without seeing the animal. You will have to take him to the veterinarian for an examination.
Good luck!
