viral counts
I would like to know what is all the viral counts(something like CD4 + CD8) they check on a hiv patient, what is a healthy person's counts verses a hiv+ patient's counts. Should the counts go up or down to indicate wether the patient is winning or losing the battle.

Concerned, the CD4+ lymphocyte count is a measurement of how well the person’s immune system is still working. The CD8+ lymphocytes are not affected and might even increase. In normal people the CD4:CD8 ratio is about 2:1, but this decreases in people with AIDS. In other words, the lower the CD4+ count and the CD4:CD8 ratio, the more pronounced the immunosuppression. Hope this made sense.
