Vitamin %RDA in fresh fruit
Hi Doctor

We would like to know for example how many oranges one has to eat per day to get your RDA of vitamin C? The RDA for vitamin C is 30mg... how many mg. is typically in a single pealed orange? In other words, are suppliments really necessary?

Dear Cornelius
If you eat a balanced diet which contains foods from all the different food groups, and you are not ill or exposed to stresses, then you don't need supplements. One fresh orange will supply you with 60 mg of vit C, which is the more accepted RDA.
