water spaniel!
My 2 year old -|- er spaniel bitch, Zoe recently had a bad tummy and doc put her on vets choice Duck and rice. Since then we have noticed an insatiable thirst and lethargy in her. She drinks easily 2 litre of water a day and wee's all the time. She also appears jittery and nervous and is very baby-ish .Cries and wimpers all the time. She is not eating as well as she should but doesnt seem to be losing weight. She roams in the long grass on an open field nearby - is it possible that she has a tick or insect bite of some sorts?? Please advise.

The duck and rice is a food with a single protein and carbohydrate source and therefore "bland" and hopefully going to settle the tummy down. It should not make her lethargic. If she is not accustomed to eating dry food she will drink more water. If she weighs 40kg she will probably need about 1.8 to 3 liters per day. If you measure her water intake you will get a good idea of whether she is having too much or not.
