What fruit are good laxatives
I eat bran flakes for breakfast. I eat only wholewheat bread. Use low fat milk. Eat small portions of red meat. No cookies, no chocolates and no sweets. I like fruit and vegetables. I also bake my own bran muffins. I am 48 years old and the doctors are amazed when they check me out. I have normal blood pressure, no sugar and no cholestrol.

Please tell me what fruit are good laxatives.

Dear Herc
Congratulations on eating such a sensible diet - no wonder you are healthy. Most fruits if eaten raw with their skins (where possible) will have a laxative effect because they contain some dietary fibre, fructose and fruit acids that stimulate the bowels. Dried fruit which has been boiled is particularly good at promoting peristalsis.
Keep up the good work.
Best regards
