Dear What is Better
Whiskey provides approx. 313 kJ per tot of 30 ml. A grape juice like Grapetiser contains 256 kJ/100 ml. So if you have 1 tot of whiskey plus 200 ml Grapetiser you would be ingesting 825 kJ. I am not sure what type of natural sweet wine you intend drinking? Most semi-sweet wines provide 300 kJ/100 ml, but wines like Muscadel which are very sweet provide 573 kJ/100 ml. So if you have 200 ml of these 2 types of wine, the semi-sweet wine will provide 600 kJ and the Muscadel will provide 1146 kJ. In other words, drinking 200 ml of semi-sweet wine will provide the least energy (600 kJ), followed by the whiskey plus 200 ml of Grapetiser (825 kJ)and the sweet Muscadel will have the highest energy content (1146 kJ) per 100 ml. As mentioned before, it is better not to have alcohol when you are trying to lose weight, but if you do drink some alcohol, then try diluting it with non-sweetened mixers, like soda water, or water, or ice. For example, if you just have a tot of whiskey with ice and water, you will be ingesting 313 kJ and if you dilute semi-sweet wine with 50% ice or soda water, you will also reduce its energy content to about 300 kJ per drink, which will be better than having the other drinks, esp the very sweet wine.
