Dear Chris
Regular excessive intakes of any food or beverage can cause weight gain. According to the SA Food Tables, white wine contains 298 kJ per 100 ml. Measure the volume of wine you drink and multiply by 298 and divide by 100 to obtain the kJ you ingest.
Moderate intakes of wine (e.g.1 glass and not every day) should not affect your weight. Moderation is the key.
