Nutrition question to the specialist!!

someone presented me with a meal shake/meal replacement thats loaded with vitamins and minerals. The shake contain the following (content per 100g):

In your proffesional opinion, would you say this is a good meal replacement? Is there any other product on the market that matches this product?

Dear Stef,

The meal replacement sounds to me like it is well balanced and nutritious. A good meal replacement usually contains between 50-60g carbohydrate, 20-30g protein and around 10g fat per 100g dry product. It should also contain all the vitamins and minerals. I am not sure what product this is, but just be careful for products with added herbals - we don't know what the use of this is. Good examples of meal replacements available in South Africa are: Nestle Nutren Active, Nestle Optimum, Ensure, Replace and Nutribalance.
