aching shins

I have taken up jogging aroound roads etc but found that after aq week my shin bones seemed to ache rather painfully. Is this normal when running on hard surfaces and will it continue if i carry on runing? I run about 5 miles every time i go.

What thsi is from is your calves being to tight so the shin muscles have to work extra hard to clear you foot as you swing through your leg. You need to stretch both components of the calf so with the knee bent and the knee straight. If you stretch correctly you will feel the results after your next run.
