Meningitis symptoms are general feeling being un-well, headache, achy body, achy neck and back, stiff neck, irritable and uncomfortable behaviour, sometimes fever. It is most often caused by either a virus or a bacteria, normally spreads during change of season when transmission of germs is easier. Prevention is with hygiene, good nutritional status especially of vitamin A and C so eat lots of fruit and vegetables, long term side effects depend on how bad the infection but it can be fatal or lead to brain and nerve damage. Recovery in healthy individuals rests on appropriate treatment, increased multi-nutrient support, strengthen the immune system, rest and allow full recovery before doing anything that stresses the body.
Herbal remedy Elderberry and Goldenseal are direct anti-viral and anti-bacterial's that can be used during recovery as post-anti-biotic support.
