DO MEDICAL AID PAY FOR CELLUTOLOGY ?
Hi Debbie,
Every medical aid has to provide a minimum range of benefits know as prescribed minimum benefits, and 'cellutology' is not included within that range. However, after that as long as a service is medically related a scheme has the discretion of providing any benefits they like.
It is however important to know whether the scheme provides these additional benefits out of risk or from members savings.
The general trend is for these alternative treatments to be paid from savings, otherwise everybody would be going for the massage and the cost of the scheme would sky rocket.
