Exercise after back operation
I had a spinal decompression and fusion of the L4-S1, 5 months ago. Other than the exercises given to me straight after the operation I have received no further exercise or therapy. I am still experiencing a lot of pain, and feel like an "old lady" when I have to stand up straight or get out of bed as it is very painful. Is there any exercises that I can do that will help strengthen my back to alleviate this pain? Do you suggest I see a physiotherapist?
Hi Debbie
Your best option is to see someone. The structures around your spine are probably still locked up, and will need specialised knoledge to help you release it.
