Heart Murmurs
Hi

Thanks and this is becoming more and more interesting. Yes, he is seeing a peadiatric neurologyst in Pretoria. A lady called Celia Erasmus. His doses is as follows:

Prozac 10mg in the morning
Risperdal: 0.5mg in the morning and 1mg at night
Concerta: 36mg one in the morning

He is 7 and weighs about 30kg's. We have had excellent results with the meds. I understand the safety factor and it weighs heavy on my mind everytime I give this to him. This heart issue is even bigger concern to me. I read all the little pieces of paper that comes with the any meds and are very aware of the impact on heart patients.

Thanks for all the info. I will try and get a report from the docter and will post it here. It would certainly be nice to have all explained in a language I understand.

Thank you once more.

Dear ADD Mom,

I am very pleased that your son is being treated by a specialist. Now, she would be a good person to find you a paediatric cardiologist in your area, as they ( all the paediatric specialists) all know each other. Why don’t you try asking her next time you see her? Or just call her rooms and ask her. I’m sure she would be pleased to help you, as you are already a patient of hers.

It is good to be so aware of one’s medicines and the way they could interact with each other. Some combinations are dangerous, whilst others are not, but it is still your responsibility to know about them, and I must congratulate you on being so well-informed. Keep it up, you son needs this type of caring Mom.

I hope you can get your seen by a paediatric cardiologist soon. I would be very interested to hear the outcome – please let me know via this forum if you can.

Good luck and keep up the good work.
