HIV Tests
Doc please help me understand this, in December 2002 I did an HIV tests and my blood was sent to Lancet Laboratoties which came out negative. On the report where it says requested: it says HIV Elisa - No Blot, on Test is says HIV 1 & 2 Elisa (Abbott). This year in January I did another test, my blood was sent to Ampath which came out Negative as well. Where is says Ordered: it says HVI AB. On test is says HIV Type I & II 3rd Gen.
All my results are negative which I pleased with, but what was ordered or requested is different to me.
May you explaing this to me if at all possible.
Thanks

HIV Elisa tests, the screening test for HIV 1 and 2 were done. A western blot is only done when the Elisa test is positive and therefore it was not done in your case. Your test results are negative.
