Leukemia
Hi
I have a friend who has Leukemia. She is currently going for chemo sessions which is going to last 6 months. My question is that with all the medical advances today, what are the odds of her leading a normal healthy life after the chemo?
Concerned friend.

Dear Avin
It depends on a lot of things, how bad the leukemia is (what stage), what kind of cells are involved, how well she responds to the chemo, etc. Her doctor will be able to give her a more realistic outlook. A high percentage of patients go into remission and is cancer free for at least 5 years.
