pain in chest (right side)
I am 25 ,very fit,my father was diagnosed with a floppy heart flap.
its happens usually in the mornings after breakfast,or my first cup of coffee.i get a pain in the right side of my chest, almost next to my right arm socket.it is a quick jab of pain for maybe 10-30 sec (depends).my theory is that it may have something to do with sugar.i dont have a sweet tooth and the only sugar i eat is in bfast & coffee.I have had this for maybe 2 years now.

Thank you kindly

Dear Soutie,

A Floppy heart valve is also known as Barlow’s syndrome.

The symptoms you describe do not sound like any heart condition, and are extremely unlikely to have anything to do with sugar consumption. However, why don’t you try cutting out sugar completely for a few days, and see what happens. If your pain disappears, but then recurs IMMEDIATELY you use sugar again, go see your doctor for a full checkup and sugar test.
