Flattening your tummy and losing body fat around the middle are not necessarily the same goal. To reduce your body composition you will probably need to make some changes to what, how and when you eat. You will also need to do exercise that uses up more energy than you take in (in the form of food energy). Remember that, in females, body fat around the middle can be an indicator of increased cardiac disease risk, so don't delay doing something about it.

Pilates exercises target those tummy muscles that can create a flatter, narrower waist - they are also very important postural muscles that look after your lower back. Combined with a good nutritional programme, some cardiovascular exercise and 2-3 Pilates sessions a week, you can most certainly make a change for the better.
