Prescribed Minimum Benefits
Given that prescibed minimum benefits are covered by core benefits and other medical benefits come out of additional cover can a medical aid use up chronic cover to provide prescribed minimum benefits ?
Yes, a medical scheme can use the chronic cover to provide for PMB's. If the chronic benefit is depleted, the scheme must continue to pay for the 25 chronic PMB's. The other chonic conditions must then be paid by the member.
