Pure agony !
Hello Douglas
Please help! I have been diagnosed with having Planters Faciites
in my left foot. Started when i purchased a pair of shoes (a very expensive pair of shoes!) that had i lovely "soft" built in arch. They were an absolute dream to wear...until I took them off! Pain and agony. I thought it was due to the shoes being new and that I should continue to wear them until I get used to them.
I had to see an orthopaedic Surgeon who gave me an injection (R360 later) that relieved my agony for about 2 days. He mentioned that should the pain return, I must roll my foot on a golf ball and use Ice for the inflammation. (I did that for two weeks constantly.) I have had no relief. An absolutle waste of R360.00 ! I cannot afford to go back to him as I am not on medical aid. Also, I have to use public transport to get to work as I do not have my own car. Which makes things really difficult for me.
Please can you give me some advise !
With best regards
Marge

Hi Marge
It is always a pity when something you are so proud of causes so much pain.
Chances are the shoes shifted your biomechanics, making your left calf pull very tight - when it does this it can refer to the heel causing symptoms of planter fasciatis (which is a boney spur that goes on the heel - and in my mind does not pop up over night).
First you need to stretch your calves, second rub a point on the left - 5cm up and across from your navel, and third... let go of the guilt of buying an expensive pair of shoes.... (which in my mind is the most important thing to do).
You should feel improvement very quickly.
