My friend's daughter plays hockey. She started complaining about her legs being sore about 1 year ago. The doctor diagnosed it as Shins. She has been on medication for the whole year but the Shins don't get better. Could something else be wrong?

Hi Chantell
Legs can mean anything from hips to ankles but you mention shins as being the main source of pain.

Well shin splints can mean a variety of different problems- from muscle problems to bony problems. A biomechanical assessment may be useful here to see if there is any adaptations that can be performed (with orthotic/ inserts)
An initial X-ray or even finally a bone scan can also be done to exclude some causes.
