Ephedrine is a stimulant that acts on the body and assists in raising the metabolism and in so doing helps to burn fat.

The problem is that it can have an adverse effect on the heart and central nervous system and has even been linked in deaths of individuals who have been using this substance.

I have not encountered reports of ephedrine preventing muscle growth.
