Knee exercises
Please could you provide me with some knee exercise, I am a runner and always have problems with my knees, my right side is always worse than the left. I have just done a 21km and it wasn’t for the pain in the knees I would have done the 42. Physically I feel very good otherwise. and my shoes are for stability .
I don’t have excess to a gym and would there for just do my own thing at home. I only weigh 54kg and am in my late forties. I desperately want to do the Comrades this year but I need to strength my knees. I got Knee guards from the Orthopaedic surgeon but don’t always wear them, as I believe they make the muscles weak. I can run uphill with ease but coming down hill I have to walk slowly.
Please help

You may have a variety of disorders of the knee but I'm sure that the Orthopod would have checked for them. Did he/she?

Ladies are sometimes more susceptable to certain knee problems than what men are and compounding your problem is the running that you are doing.

I would suggest that you consult a Biokineticist/Physiotherapist for a personal evaluation.

Tell me if you come right with this. If you don't then message me again and we can see what we can do for you.

Keep well,

Conrad Booysen-Biokineticist
