Abdominal Pain
I have a dull pain in my right abdomin. Bottom right, just under the ribs. It is not severe, just dull and always there. Doctors say they can find nothing wrong. Went for a sonar, same thing, nothing wrong. But the condition persists, virtually all the time, especially when I am at work. it does seem to be stress related, feels worse when I am really struggling to get through the day. Also seems to appear when I am driving. If I sit up in an exagerated upright posture, the pain goes away, or it used to, but the feeling is so persistant now that it seems to be there all the time. It started out as a feeling that something was in my side, like if you are carrying books in your arm and the corners are pressing into your side.

Any ideas?

William, it is difficult to say what the problem is without examining you first, but it sounds like it might be due to your gallbladder, liver, kidney or colon. The sonar should have picked up gallbladder, liver and kidney problems, so we’re left with the colon. It might be due to something simple like constipation, but it might also be due to polyps, diverticulosis or irritable bowel syndrome. The best would be to see a gastroenterologist and to have him sort it out for you. Good luck.
