Acidity
I had a gastrocopy done Oct 2004 - no ulcer present (problem faulty valve) been on Omez20mg since then - stopped working - doubled up on medication (2 a day) that also stopped helping. Currently on a 2 week course of Nexiam 40mg and this too does not seem to help. According to doc, this is not diet related, yet I definately have a increase and decrease of acidity and pain after eating or not eating certain foods. I smoke, drink coffee(2 a day) eaton a daily basis: banana/yog, 2 ryvita/chick/tuna (tsp l/f mayo) + a fruit(apple/wmelon or pear) sml bag salted pretzels, 2 cream crack-thin white cheese and dinner 2 veg,starch,chick/fish - no fats or oils. I have cut out bread and cut down on sugar intake(sweet tooth) this seems to help. Regarding the above is there other foods I need to avoid or include to ease my discomfort?

Dear Ck
Only thing I would try and do is to stop the smoking and eating smaller meals at a time. Avoid burny or gassy foods. Sometimes these things just need an operation to fix it.
