Blood through penis now in stool
My wife and I were engaged in intercourse last week end when I had an extreme burning sensation when ejaculating.I thereafter saw semen but a few seconds later ,pure blood, probably around a teaspoon full.(blood not in the semen)
After meeting with my dr and doing the usual prostate test,he said it was enlarged and he diagnosed "prostatitis" and put me on a strong course of anti-biotics for 10 days.
I have not had any more blood from the penis (no sex since then though) but today noticed some blood in my stool. My dr.says this is probably not linked !! It is more likely caused from having had a bit of constipation.
He feels that the infection etc should be gone after the 10 days treatment. However, how do I know that the swelling is down again?Do I need to have the "test" done again.
Should I do anything specific to help prevent this happening again and would you agree with my dr's diagnosis?

Dear Concerned
He can actually test the prostate fluid by massaging the prostate and then taking a swab of the tip of the penis - not pleasant but very effective. The blood in your stool will not be linked, however, I am starting to wonder if you have a problem with the clotting of your blood - maybe he should just check this too. Is the blood from the stool coming from a hemorroid or a tear? If it does not clear up he needs to look again.
