Can't confide in my boyfriend
Doctor, I have a serious problem. About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with HSV 1 & 2. I was and still is devistated about this and didn't tell anyone until today. My 3 month relationship with my boyfriend is very serious and we don't use condoms. We both went for blood tests, but I did'nt get the herpes results as yet. Everything else is fine. I know that I have to tell him about my condition, but I just can't do it. I am too humiliated and ashamed. I'm so affraid he will reject me. I don't know if I should tell him or not. Last year, in May, I had a miscarraige with my previous boyfriend. I don;t even have the courage to tell him that, but I suspect he knows already. Probably from someone else. Doctor, please help me as I hardly get any outbreaks, but now I have this small lump, the size of a pimple between the lips of my vigina. I'm hoping it is just an ingrown hair, but I'm not sure.
Betsie, the best would be to tell him now and to not sleep with him when you have an outbreak. You can also ask your doctor to prescribe you something like Famvir® as soon as the outbreak begins – this will shorten the time of the outbreak as will as the time that it will take for the disease to burn itself out. If you’re interested in more information, you’re welcome to mail me at CyberDoc@mweb.co.za. Good luck.
