CYBER DOCTOR
IN THE LAST YEAR OR SO I HAVE DEVELOPED A SWELLING THAT IS NOT PAINFULAT THE BASE OF MY EARLOBE BUT NOT ON THE EARLOBE MORE ON THE SIDE OF MY NECK JUST UNDER THE EARLOBE IT LOOKS STRANGE AS IF MY FACE AND NECK IS ONE SURFACE MY DOCTOR HAS SEEN IT AND HE JUST ASKED IF IT WAS SORE AND I SAID NO IT WAS NOT THAT IS WHEN HE WAS EXAMINING ME FOR ANOTHER CONDITION. SINCE THEN IT HAS GOTTEN BIGGER IT DOES NOT AFFECT MY HEARING AND APART FROM MAKING MY FACE LOOK LOPSIDED GIVES NO TROUBLE.I SUFFER FROM THYROID PROBLEMS UNDERACTIVE. IS IT TO DO WITH THIS BUT IT IS AT THE BASE OF MY EARLOBE AND NOT WHERE THE THYROID IS. I CANNOT FEEL A LUMP BUT IT IS MORE OF A THICKENED MASS. WHAT CAN IT BE? IT IS NOTICABLE.COULD IT BE CANCEROUS?

Dear Worried
It could be a gland in your neck or TB - It should be checked out by taking a small biopsy - ask your doctor to refer you to a surgeon.
