Discharge from anus
Dear Dr
I recognised a discharge from my anus this morning after i woke up. On going to the toilet there was no bowel movement-just a "slimey" yellowish thickish discharge from my anus area. Definitely not from my vagina- yes Im female.It didnt smell nice either. Im quite worried-do you know what this might be??I am 49
years old.

The anal canal does produce phlegm, when one has a polyp this phlegm may be more than normal - if you have infection in the canal you can produce yellow, offensive smelling phlegm. So if this persists - rather see your doctor.
