Lexi, you can try using an antiviral ointment like Zovirax® and L-lysine (an amino-acid I have found works wonders).
Fever blisters tend to appear when one’s resistance is down and it might be that your doctor gives you an antibiotic to treat/prevent secondary infections. This is probably also why you develop thrush every time.
Most people will become immune to the virus eventually, but it might take up to twenty years. In the meantime you have to make sure that there isn’t an underlying problem like anaemia or diabetes that makes you more susceptible to outbreaks and to try and live a healthy life. Good luck.
