Hypertension & Stroke
My husband who's 36 yrs old had a stroke last week. His bloodpressure was 247 over 119. He is a smoker and drinker and has a lot of work-related stress. He is also on medication from his Psychiatrist for PTSD. What can he do to prevent another stroke or heart attack, apart from the usual less smoking, less drinking, less salt intake, exercise and healthier eating?

Quentin, the first thing to do is to find out why his blood pressure is so high and treat the cause. If he then adds “the usual less smoking, less drinking, less salt intake, exercise and healthier eating” he should be OK. Good luck.
