L4/5 Fusion
Good evening CD

In November last year after 3 back ops I had fusion done. Two weeks ago if felt pain in my left buttock area as if somebody had kicked me, this carried on for a few days. Last week Friday night my leg started aching it was aching so badly i got into a hot bath around 1am in the morning to try and ease the pain, when I woke up on Saturday morning my leg felt numb with slight pins and needles with pain in my ankle and leg as the day progressed it got worse with pain in my buttock, running down my leg, thigh and foot. I have been suffering all week with this. I think my sciatica nerve is inflammed or pinched. I have taken anti-inflamatories but its not helping just getting worse. If it is the sciatica nerve pinching from the L4 would the Neurosurgeon have to re-operate to ease the pain.

Thanks
Michelle

Dear Michelle
Not necessarily - but you do need to see your orthopod, as you may need some traction. The nerve is obviously in trouble.
