LENGTHY TIME TO RECOVER FROM TUMMY BUG
I have had what (I think) was a tummybug about a month ago - just mild diarrohea with no vomiting but just slight nausea and a lack of energy. However this has gone on for weeks intermittently. Sometimes the tummy is fine for a few days and then stools become watery again - also have constant bloating and burping. GP prescribed probiotics at first and has now put me on an antibiotic as well as anti-acid medicine. My tummy is generally very irritable (ibs?)and these type of viruses have lingered for weeks in the past (so - called post viaral symptoms)
Could this be an ulcer and would you recommend that i have the procedure whereby they put the pipe down ones throat ?

Dear Ray
First ask your doctor to send a stool sample ( 1 teaspoonful is enough) to the lab - you may have a parasite infection ( like Gardia - one can pick these things up from salads that are not rinsed properly or from your pets) One need specific treatment for it. I don't think you have an ulcer.
